To check or reconnect the Slack integration to your workspace, navigate to Admin > Integrations > Slack. Click Connect Slack if you don’t have an existing integration, or Reconnect Slack if you do, and note what the result page shows.

Required Permissions Are Missing

If the result says Slack needs additional permissions, Confidence hasn’t updated the connection. Expand Missing permissions, ask your Slack administrator to approve them, and select Reconnect Slack. If Slack can’t send an approval request, contact your administrator directly.

Slack Connects With Limited Permissions

The connection succeeded, but Slack didn’t grant all requested permissions. Check Available with these permissions and Needs additional permissions on the result page. Ask your administrator to review the missing permissions, then reconnect after approval. See the connection result examples in Connect Your Slack Workspace.

The Connection Fails

Confidence Doesn’t Respond in a Channel

Check that:
  • Your organization connected the Slack workspace. See Connect Your Slack Workspace.
  • You added Confidence to the channel. See Add Confidence to a Slack Channel.
  • Your message mentions @Confidence.
  • The channel has a selected Confidence workspace. Send @Confidence /workspace to check.
  • Slack granted the permissions needed for questions in channels.
If Slack says the bot isn’t enabled for your account, contact Confidence support. For group direct messages, start a one-to-one conversation with the app instead.

Confidence Can’t Find Your User

Your Slack and Confidence accounts must use the same email address. Check that you have access to the selected Confidence workspace. Use @Confidence /workspace <name> to select another workspace if needed. Connecting your personal Slack account for notifications doesn’t grant Confidence workspace access.

A Confidence Workspace Isn’t Listed

Only connected Confidence workspaces are available for selection. Ask a Confidence administrator to follow Connect Your Slack Workspace. The channel’s selection applies to everyone in that channel. A direct message uses your personal selection.

A Request Doesn’t Complete

  • If Confidence is still working on a previous request, wait for it to finish before asking again.
  • If the message says the workspace has run out of credits, ask a Confidence administrator to add credits.
  • For a temporary request or access verification failure, retry. You can also start a new thread.

Notifications Don’t Arrive

Check the delivery settings for the notification you expect: Adding Confidence to a channel doesn’t subscribe it to resource activity. Check that your Slack connection has the permissions needed to send notifications.
