# What Is Confidence

> Confidence is a product platform for shipping features, measuring their impact, and turning user behavior into product insights. Built and used at Spotify.

Run experiments, manage feature flags, track metrics, explore your data, and watch user sessions in one place. Spotify built Confidence to run its own product development: hundreds of teams use it to run thousands of experiments, and the same statistics engine and experimentation workflows power every Confidence account.

## What You Can Do

**Test and ship**—Run A/B tests and rollouts, release features behind flags, and target the right users with segments. Every decision rests on metrics you define once and reuse.

**Learn and iterate**—Ask questions of your product data with Insights, watch real sessions with Recordings, and feed what you learn into the next experiment.

**Organize**—Group experiments and flags by product area with Surfaces, so every team sees its own work and the metrics that matter to it.

**Work with AI**—The Confidence Agent in the app and in Slack creates experiments and rollouts, explains results, and explores your data. It launches anything only after you confirm. MCP servers bring flags, events, metrics, and experiment results into Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, or any AI assistant that supports MCP.

## Get Started Right Away

Every new account runs on Confidence Cloud by default. Your account comes with User and Visitor entities, a `tutorial-feature` flag, a client, and demo metrics and experiments so you can explore the platform before your own data arrives.

Run the setup wizard from your project folder. It signs you in, connects your AI assistant, and adds flags, events, or recordings to your code:

```bash theme={null}
npx @spotify-confidence/quickstart
```

Already connected the Confidence MCP servers? Ask your AI assistant:

```text theme={null}
Add a Confidence feature flag called new-checkout to this project,
wire it into the checkout page, and show me how to test both variants.
```

To run Confidence on your own BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks instead, see [Warehouse Native Confidence](/docs/start/warehouse-native). To compare the two, see [Confidence Cloud](/docs/start/confidence-cloud).
